Friday May 30,2003 Indianapolis Star Section NB An article by Fred Kelly draws attention to the safety aspect of Knobby Hill. He quotes Michael Mays and Rich Daly, a nationally known
critic of the sport from Union Springs, NY. The article makes reference to the numerous serious injuries and the frequency of the number of times that the ambulance personnel have been called to
the track.
Mays stated he hit his head on a fence post at 55mph. I seriously doubt the speed but I do note that this is another nail in the coffin for off-road riders. Since riders will attempt to do things that are out of their skill range, I believe that now is the time to step up and ride with some common sense.
Don’t look now but the clouds are gathering for the CPSC to look at motocross.
Remember Conneciutt last year when the Attorney General shut down a motocross track because of the numerous injuries and the hospital filing charges against parents for “child abuse”..
